Daily Puja Vidhi: A Simple Home Worship Checklist

Daily puja need not be elaborate. A few minutes of sincere worship, done consistently, brings more grace than an occasional grand ceremony. Here is a simple vidhi you can follow every morning.
What you will need
- A clean altar with your murti or photo
- A diya (ghee or oil lamp) and matches
- Incense or dhoop
- Fresh flowers and a little water in a small vessel
- A bell, and naivedya (a small offering of fruit or sweet)
The steps
Bathe and wear clean clothes. Light the lamp and the incense. Ring the bell to begin. Offer water, flowers and the naivedya to the deity. Recite your chosen mantra, stotra or the Hanuman Chalisa. Sit quietly for a moment in gratitude, then perform aarti, circling the lamp before the murti. Close by seeking blessings and distributing the prasad.

Keeping it consistent
Pick a fixed time — most do puja after a morning bath — and keep your samagri stocked so nothing interrupts the routine. Consistency matters far more than duration; even five focused minutes each day builds a deep, steady practice.
